You are what you eat?

Yes, in fact you are, and that is why we place great soil at the top of the list of things to grow. We don’t use pesticides or fertilizers unless it is OMRI certified which means it is organic. Even then, we use any kind of product sparingly. Did you know that the use or sale of Neem oil (considered an organic spray for pest control) is unlawful in the UK? That’s because research has shown it to have negative health effects like miscarriage and increased symptoms in auto-immune diseases like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis when consumed. If that wasn’t bad enough spraying Neem oil can also kill the beneficial insects like bees, and Parasitoid Wasps. Beneficial insects are the ones you want in your garden because they consume the pests you don’t want like Japanese beetles and cabbage worms. Diatomaceaous earth, another example of improper use of “organic pesticides”, has been linked to lung cancer among people who work with it in large amounts.

So, when it comes to the food you eat, it’s important to know where it came from and how it was grown in order to prevent negative health effects from the food you consume. That is exactly why, we here at Fork and Tiller Farm want to produce food that is not only delicious, but that you can rest assured, will be healthy for you.when it comes to the food you eat, it’s important to know where it came from and how it was grown in order to prevent negative health effects from the food you consume.
